Cooking up something special

BIRDS BAKERY

sweet new bakery and cafe design concept

Rolling out throughout Derbyshire the new stores elevate the value perceptions of the brand by highlighting the quality and superior taste credentials of the product.

Founded in 1919 by three brothers - a baker, butcher and confectioner - Birds remains a family firm with longstanding expertise and a passion for quality and freshness in baked goods.

But a more stylish environment and engaging experience was necessary.  The challenge was to enhance the value perception of the products, win new customers of all ages and reinforce it local destination status for breakfast, lunch and treats.

Now it makes much more of an inviting statement.  Outside, an uplifting shade of spring-green frames the enticing view inside, where a warm and welcoming kitchen aesthetic prevails.

Display counters of different heights - supported by rolling pins - enhance visibility and bring the baking theatre centre stage.

Warm lighting, natural materials and handwritten signage reinforce the handcrafted excellence of the cookies.

Comfortable cafe seating

New seating areas encourage increased dwell time: banquettes and tables for a relaxed chat; stools at the window for a quick break.

Birds - “Oooh … that looks tasty!”.
